Cone Beam CT Scan
When a digital x-ray fails to provide enough information, the doctor may order a cone beam CT (CBCT) scan. A CBCT gives us a more detailed look at your oral and facial anatomy. With CBCT scans, we get a 3D representation of your teeth, bone, and soft tissues.
Many patients are concerned about radiation exposure with CT scans. Fortunately, CBCT scans expose us to much less radiation than traditional CT scans. The radiation from a CBCT scan for dental implants is similar to the radiation you receive from the sun by living on Earth over the course of two weeks.
CBCT scans allow us to better determine the cause of a symptom or problem. They also allow us to develop more precise surgical plans for dental implants, tooth extractions, bone grafting, and treatment of pathology. In other words, cone beam CT scan and 3D imaging have revolutionized the way we perform oral surgery.
3D Scanner and Digital Impressions
3D scanning technology has revolutionized the way we perform implant dentistry. During your treatment planning, we may use Trios intraoral scanning technology to produce a digital impression of your teeth and gums. These days, digital impressions are more comfortable and more accurate than traditional impressions.
X-Guide, CBCT Surgical Guide, and 3D Printing
We are on the cutting-edge when it comes to utilizing 3D technology to provide the best dental implant results. With 3D scanning and CBCT technology, we are able to use a high-tech 3D navigational system known as "X-guide" to improve the precision of your implant's position, angle, and depth. Depending on the case, we are also equipped to utilize 3D printing to make a CBCT surgical guide to facilitate placement of your implant. With these technologies, we are able to provide the safest and most precise dental implant treatment.
